HUNGARIAN MEAL
01.
Café Kör
Nothing fancy on the decoration (checkered tablecloth restaurant) all energy goes on to prepare great and delicious meals. A bit pricy, but ok and quality compensates for everything. If you are looking for typical Hungarian meals but in a quality as we, locals eat it and not made for tourists only, this is one of the places to go. Definitely, you will not find a pizza with pinapple here.
03.
Rosenstein
Traditional, Hungarian meals in excellent quality. The place is owned by a jewish family, called „Rosenstein”. If you are
after a family atmosphere type of restaurant with excellent, Hungarian meals and do not feel sorry for your wallet if
you get great quality in return, no need to look further.
02.
Hungarikum Bisztró
Another great place for typical Hungarian meals. Excellent service, really polite and well trained watiers. Gypsy music,
countryside atmosphere, if you are into the Hungarian folklore and want to have a great taste of that, no need to look further. May be the place fits a bit better to the middle age or older generation.

Very good quality of food and people. Staff is friendly and makes you feel very welcomed and the food is traditional and great taste. Best choice to try Gulyas!

01.
St. Andrea
Pricy, high quality, elegant restaurant. If you have a special occasion, and seeking for a place to make a great impression on your loved one, definitely a recommended option. They have excellent wines, do not miss to try them out. They also have business menu during weekdays at lunch time, price is much better and high quality isstill the same (portions are a bit smaller).
03.
Stand 25
Top international meals, expensive, but if you want to test the Hungarian fine dining, Stand 25 is definitely something you should not miss. Yes, they have a Michelin star as well. Business lunch is also available, 3‐4 course meals for lunch are also very nice during weekdays. The two chefs are a married couple so as long as their relationship works, the meals will remain excellent. So far, it works as much as I know.
02.
Borkonyha
Also not the cheapest option, more in the upper range but the quality is excellent. Fine dining, but not overdone. I think they even have a Michelin star. Going there you can not make a mistake either with friends or with colleagues.
The atmosphere is nice, not too formal but also not too casual, just right for a nice evening.

No need to write a long review here, probably the best place for excellent steaks in town. Almost all kinds of steaks from around the Globe are available here and in excellent quality. Both the atmosphere and the taste of the meats is „prime”, as it’s name. Bear in mind...also their prices...

01.
Riso
This place is on Buda side. Have a walk in the Castle area and stop by for a lunch or for a dinner (it is just a 100m to one of the entrance/exit of the castle). You may be lucky and get a table without reservation, but better not to risk it. Their balcony is very convenient during the summer. Meals are nice, prices are acceptable, same with the waiters. Not too fency, not low, just right. I often visit this place either with friends, family, but also for a business lunch.

„Authentic barbecue restaurant in downtown Budapest, where you can taste the flavors of Texas.” is how they describe themselves. Really close to Radnoti, Tatra and Kadar apartments (approx. 5 min. on foot) and the quaility is nice. Beers are also good! If you do not want to travel too much, nor spend a fortune somewhere, this is not a bad option to give a try. Do not expect the Top of the top though, it is just a „nice value for the price” type of place.
BARS & PUBS
01.
Gozsdu Udvar
Several places of bars, pubs etc. You can make your own choice here. Look after your personal belongings, this place is crowded with tourists.
There are also several other pubs around the same area. Look for „Akacfa Street” & „Kiraly Street” & ”Dob Street” here and you will find some more pubs. All varieties are available.
02.
Szimpla Kert
Located on the lively Kazinczy street in the heart of Budapest’s Jewish Quarter, Szimpla Kert is the first and one of the most popular “ruin bars” in the Hungarian capital. Here, you'll find a unique atmosphere with multiple bars scattered over two floors, great Kosher street food, an avant-garde art gallery, and an open-air theater.
